Jacqueline Haigh; Writer, Scriptwriter, Story Consultant

With a seventeen-year career working as a professional writer and story consultant, and with a sideline vocation as a performer, Jacqueline is our expert story consultant, able to re-engineer your creation whilst enhancing its drama and quality. Having written for film, TV, stage, radio and books, she is the brains when it comes to story design and structure and has script-edited hundreds of films for a variety of writers, directors and producers. She has written and directed award-winning shorts and stage plays and is constantly in development on all manner of fiction and memoirs titles as a consultant or ghost.

As a performer, she has worked with actors and directors in theatre and on screen. She particularly loves comedy and often performs in shows and stand-up. Jacqueline has a BA in English Literature – Oxford University, and an MA in Scriptwriting – Goldsmiths College. Having taught scriptwriting for Film London, London Film Academy, and the University of Essex, Jacqueline is our script-doctor and lead writer on any screenplay. Her favourite genres include fantasy, comedy and British drama. With an encyclopaedic knowledge of anything spiritual, mystical, conspiratorial and all things magic, Jacqueline is our go-to girl if your story takes place in a galaxy far far away. Favourite books; Candide by Voltaire and The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman by Laurence Sterne.

“I have developed and edited a wide range of scripts and books including the BFI funded animated comedy feature Amazing Ray for Nine Acre Films and Professor S, a kids’ TV show based on the award winning game by Ludinc Ltd. I was Script Consultant for Brass Hat Films, ran London Script Consultancy, and worked for Euroscript, developing numerous screenplays in all genres.

I have also taught scriptwriting for Film London, London Film Academy, and the University of Essex, worked as a copywriter for companies including Smart Party, Geocast TV, and River Film, and written for TLS, Yourchoice, and Scriptwriter Magazine.”
