Ghostwriter Services UK
Ghostwriter Services UK is the parent company of The London Ghostwriting Company, the UK’s trusted ghostwriting and editorials firm—supporting clients with specialist story development, mentoring and ghostwriter services.
- Our writers are experienced professionals and our writing services are fully anonymous.
- We price each project on its own terms, and design a unique approach based on the project’s nature and the client’s publishing goals.
- We invest our creativity in every project and commit to a rigorous, open and flexible process, reflecting high standards with a view to publication.
We work on each project differently with a tailored approach that is fitting and specific to the nature of the creative idea. This will be in keeping with the purpose of the book and the individual requirements of the company, person or family we are working with. It is a highly customised service that adjusts as it develops. But for a general guide and some FAQs, please keep reading.
What does a ghostwriter do?
A ghostwriter works with you to develop, write, and refine your book, screenplay, or article – capturing your voice and vision while handling the heavy lifting of structure, pacing, and polish. Our ghostwriters turn raw ideas, notes, or recorded interviews into fully realised manuscripts ready for submission or publication.
How much does a writer cost?
Every project is priced individually based on scope, length, and research requirements. We don’t offer flat fees because each story is unique. After an initial consultation, we’ll provide a transparent quote and timeline tailored to your project.
How involved will I be in the process?
You’ll be involved at every key stage. We collaborate closely through interviews, workshops, and draft reviews to ensure the writing reflects your ideas, tone, and goals. It’s a partnership — we handle the craft, you steer the story.
Do I own the rights to a book written by a ghostwriter?
Yes. All intellectual property and publishing rights belong to you. Our work is fully confidential and contractually anonymous; we don’t seek credit or retain ownership.
Can a writer help edit or finish my existing manuscript?
Absolutely. If you’ve already started your book, we can assess the material and either edit, restructure, or complete it. Many clients come to us with partial drafts, outlines, or notes that need professional shaping.
How long does it take?
Timelines vary depending on the complexity and availability of source material. A typical full-length book takes six to twelve months from first interview to final polish. We’ll agree a detailed schedule during onboarding.
What is the process, step by step?
The process begins with a brief introduction — a call or, if you’re in London, a meeting to discuss your project. From there, we review your material, agree on terms, and connect you with a suitable ghost. Together you’ll shape the outline, develop the draft, and refine the manuscript through to completion, including editorial review and submission support where required.
Who are your ghostwriters and editors?
Our team is made up of authors, editors, and story consultants from the fields of publishing, journalism, and screenwriting. Many are award-winning or bestselling writers with experience shaping manuscripts for major publishers and production companies. All writers work under strict confidentiality agreements, and every client benefits from the collective insight and editorial standards of the wider LGC group.
Will you find me a publisher?
We can support you through the submission process, but we don’t guarantee publication. Once your manuscript is complete, we’ll help you refine your proposal, shortlist appropriate agents or publishers, and prepare submission materials. In some cases, we’ll make introductions or submit on your behalf, depending on the nature of the project. While publication is ultimately outside our control, our goal is always to position your work as strongly as possible within the publishing market.
Can your ghostwriters work internationally?
Yes. While based in London, we regularly collaborate with clients around the world via video calls and shared workspaces. Time zone differences are managed flexibly to suit you.
Is there anything else I need to know?
If we don’t submit to agents as your ghostwriter, we support you with cover letters, submission strategy, and can present the project as your editor if appropriate. Our involvement often blends co-writing and developmental editing, so discretion is often key. We’ll also help you navigate offers, consider self-publishing if needed, and aim to secure a strong publishing deal through an agent.
